Goal: Create a mini eLearning module based on a provided case scenario.
Tools Used: Adobe Captivate, Adobe Audition, Twine, Google Docs, Google Drive
This module served as the summative assessment for a course I took in graduate school, aimed at helping high school students and their parents in lower-income communities learn about nutrition through the fun process of making pizza.
To get the module underway, I started with a set of sample emails and a scenario-based learning experience that simulated meetings with a subject matter expert (SME). This simulation was designed to mirror real-world interactions, providing a realistic foundation for developing the module. Ensuring the needs of the learners were met while aligning with stakeholder expectations was vital to the overall success of the project.
With this foundation, I created a detailed outline and storyboard using Twine. Twine's capabilities allowed me to accurately present the scenario-based learning experience, making it an excellent tool for gathering feedback. The interactive nature of Twine ensured that the learning experience was both engaging and effective.
Once the storyboard was finalized, I moved on to developing the complete mini module, incorporating a variety of multimedia components to enhance the learning experience. This included interactive elements, videos, and graphics to make the content more engaging and accessible.
I thoroughly enjoyed creating this module and was very pleased with the outcome. The process allowed me to combine creativity with instructional design principles, resulting in a robust educational tool that effectively met the needs of both learners and stakeholders.
Feedback from Faculty:
“Kenzie, I was truly impressed with the creativity throughout your module. The information you provided was both insightful and enhanced by appropriate visuals. The navigation components were efficient, with branching smoothly guiding the learner through the narrative. Your knowledge checks proficiently gauged the learner's comprehension of the material. Furthermore, the conversational tone and interactivity you incorporated heightened the module's engagement factor. Excellent work!” -Angel Morgan
